We’ve already spoken about how you can combine your online and offline marketing however there are still so many other ways in which you can combine different marketing techniques to reap some serious benefits, especially if you’re a small to medium sized local business. Whilst using both traditional marketing and digital marketing together can bring your business some real success, taking an even more hands on approach could have it’s advantages too.
Putting some money into advertising locally can actually bring in more business than you think. While these sort of advertising spaces cost less they usually don’t get seen by as many people. To most this may seem like a disadvantage but it actually isn’t. This is because these advertisements are targeted specifically to local people – the most important audience for small local businesses. The more local people see your brand within the community the more likely it is that they will feel a sense of familiarity when they see your business. All of this can build trusting consumer to business relationship which is obviously fruitful for your ever-growing enterprise.
Donate to a local charity
First things first we do not mean money – donating money in the hopes of boosting your brand isn’t exactly the most effective way to gain a solid brand image. Instead why not donate your time and/or skills. For instance if there’s a local food bank close to your restaurant business why not donate some of your produce? This is not only a great way to show that your business cares about the local community – it also gives you a chance to meet new people. Showing yourself as the face of your business within your community consistently can both strengthen your brand and help your business engage with more potential customers.
Sponsor a local event
Similar to the above – this shows that you care about your local business. However we’d suggest that you choose an event that is relevant to your business and upholds the same values as your business. This ensures that when your branding is plastered all over an event it is going to be seen by people who are interested in the same things as your business. For example, if you have a personal training business why not sponsor a local fun run?
Join the local chamber of commerce
This tip is great because it works in a multitude of ways. On one hand you can use the name of the chamber of commerce in your marketing to show that you’re a reliable and reputable business. Whilst on the other hand you can also learn a lot from being part of a group of like minded business people. They can offer you advice, teach you new skills and can even give you some referral business.
