First and foremost happy bank holiday Monday to those of you in the UK, if you’re not we hope you’re having a great Monday nonetheless. Can you all believe it that it’s May already? We can’t. Even though April seemed to be over in a blink we can’t say goodbye without looking at the most beautifully designed websites of the month. If you didn’t catch last month’s you can do so here. If you did then carry on reading and enjoy!
1. Hire level
You all know that we’re suckers for a minimalist and simplistic web design. However, that doesn’t mean that you there can’t be any colours. Hire Level is the perfect example of this. The site manages to keep a clean and slick user experience whilst keeping the user interface simple and easy to follow whilst the two contrasting colours really make the design pop and visually separates the two different types of users of the site.
A pleasing combination of colours, graphics, fonts and photos really brings the whole aesthetic of this web design together. The unconventionally placed text and overlapping of graphics are surprisingly beautiful to look at. Paired with a simple contrasting colour palette and motivational imagery this web design really is fit for its purpose. The whole design is completed by some very subtle animations that give the website an edgy look.
3. Diadora: bright delivery
Another sport motivated website. We love the bright yellow and white against the muted toned hero images. It creates a really eye-catching contrast but still keeps a cool and modern feel. You can really interact with the website within the subtle animations and slide interactions almost on every single page. It uses the user experience and user interface to create a journey reflective of what their website is all about.
4. Eyezen challenge
This web design is a bit more about the functionality and less about the way it looks. This whole website is, in fact, a game and as we all know games rely on their designs to make them playable. However, the functionality of this one is a bit extreme. You don’t use your mouse and you don’t use your keyboard. You use your eyes. Don’t believe us? Plug in your webcam and give it a go.
5. The jungle book
If you can’t appreciate all of these beautifully detailed illustrations on the official jungle book website then we don’t know what to say. The illustrations combined with the full page videos creates a wondrous cinematic effect. It is a hugely entertaining website in the way it works. The user journey is actually physically moving through the website and the story at the same time.
