Overview
Reigate & Banstead is a local government district with borough status in east Surrey England. It covers the towns of Reigate, Banstead, Redhill and Horley.
Objective
Reigate & Banstead Council had two issues they wanted to resolve when they starting talking to us
1. Visually representing different audience types and potential new communication channels to show Councillors the art of the possible.
2. The need to present a new and consistent brand image for all communications materials and to provide a simple and cost-effective way of rolling it out.
They readily admit that they didn’t know what they wanted; simply that they knew the problems they had.
Solution
We worked with both the council staff and council members to deliver a solution to both problems.
We started with a series of moodboards to show Councillors the various audiences the council had and the most effective and appropriate communication channels. This was followed by a brand concept presentation on what a consistent identity could look like across the breadth of printed communications materials the council use.
Once the brand identity was complete a full set of brand guidelines and templates were produced to ensure continuity was maintained no matter who did the work.
